DUP Deputy Leader Nigel Dodds MP has urged the Prime Minister to get meaningful changes to the Withdrawal Agreement rather than meaningless reassurances.

Mr Dodds made his comments during Prime Minister’s Question Time in the House of Commons.

Commenting afterwards Mr Dodds said,

“The Withdrawal Agreement is a legally binding international treaty. Political assurances about how it would be implemented are meaningless. They will not trump the binding commitments of the Withdrawal Agreement.  Indeed they would be from people who, given the state of European politics and impending elections, may not even be in office when the assurances would need to be cashed in.

"The Prime Minister has committed to deal with our concerns but that must involve meaningful changes. Non-legally binding reassurances will not work.”
